A new approach to headshots

Headshots are expensive, and getting them right is a key step to making it as a successful performer.

Have you ever received your headshots back and realised that they’re essentially five pictures of you in a different coloured top? Me too. My first set of headshots were five of the dullest pictures I’ve ever gazed upon. But we live and we learn!

I want to help you achieve a set of headshots that show the wide range of characters that you can play - catching the eye of casting directors, and most importantly - your crush’s when they scroll on Instagram…

By using my colour season analysis expertise, style knowledge, and experience in casting, I can help you achieve a set of headshots that are varied, intentional, exciting, and well prepared - giving you the confidence to go in and nail your session with your talented photographer.

What is a colour season?

Your colour season determines which hues of colours harmonise with you.

You may LOVE a certain colour, but it might wash you out or overpower you, which doesn’t help you look your best in your headshots.

This knowledge is key to creating your personal colour palette.

To do this, I will analyse the undertones in your skin, your eye colour, hair colour, and the contrast between all of those features.

“Carys helped me create a plan to indicate which look served each characterisation, leaving me to go into my headshot session with a clear vision of what I wanted from each look. I’d had several headshot sessions in the past but this was the first time I had gone in with such a clear, focused idea of what I wanted from it and I am very happy with the results as I have booked several really exciting and varied jobs in the last year!”

“My styling session with Carys not only made me feel prepared for my headshot shoot, it made me excited too!

Ending up with nice headshots can feel like such a stab in the dark; I wanted to work with The Headshot Stylist to achieve a sense of agency and confidence about my chosen outfits and what story I wanted them to convey. I definitely feel that now.”

“Carys helped me choose 6 distinct headshot ideas to portray a different kind of character, whilst still reflecting my personality and appearance.

We then planned an outfit for each headshot, even coming up with accessories and discussing the general intention of the headshot. This helped me immensely to streamline my session, ensuring I got the most out of my time.”

“Carys gave me the confidence to be bolder in my pictures, and to take the time I needed in the session to push for the images I wanted. She is also such a cheerleader and gave me a massive confidence boost before getting in front of the camera. Headshot sessions are expensive and important, so a bit of behind the scenes work was definitely worth it!”
